Teach children the basic beliefs of our Christian FaithThe Sunday School exists to teach children the basic beliefs of our Christian
faith and how these beliefs apply to them in their daily lives.
It also gives children the experience of regular worship in a way more
relevant to them. What Do They Teach?From the beginning of this new term we shall be trying some new material for Sunday School called 'Roots', which has been produced by a group from all the mainstream churches in England. Each week the children will be exploring at their own level the theme of the Gospel reading which we hear in church. To do this each Sunday's session will begin with a leader introducing the theme for the day; the children will sing a hymn and the leader will read the Bible passage then talk briefly about the message in it, then the children will go into groups to do some activities relating to that message. At the end of the session there will be a time for prayers, again on the theme for the day, and the children will come into church at the usual time bringing with them some of the things they have made. At the end of the service we shall look at these and if a group have made up a mime or a short drama they will show us that as well.Who are the Teachers?The teachers are all volunteers from St. Martins
some parents, some not. Where and When?We meet in St Martins Church Hall at the moment, from 10.00 a.m.
- 11.00 a.m. every Sunday (other than the third). On the third Sunday
in every month a Family Service is held in the church and on these days
everyone attends church to worship as a family and enjoy a service with
